Freemasons are a source of inspiration for many people. Let’s take a look at the history of Freemasonry and its current position to see if we can separate fact from fiction.  As a “secret society,” Masonic lodges utilise a variety of odd rituals to communicate with one another. They take on a whole new meaning when you learn how Freemasons played a role in the Scientific Revolution (and not just the occult and magic) and how influential they were in the political life of their countries from the American War of Independence and the French Revolution to the end of the nineteenth century.
 Among other things, Freemasons were known for their generosity, their radical notion of religious tolerance, their actual and manufactured secrecy of lodges, their democracy and their encouragement of creative endeavours.
